Future Prospects

As the Internet continues developing in the twenty-first century, achieving the dream of the human global village, more and more attention has focused on the role of Chinese people on both sides of the Taiwan strait in the global community. Mandarin Chinese, likewise, attains a growing importance, and more and more people want to learn Chinese. This has set off a worldwide craze for learning Chinese, and an important market for Chinese language teaching has thus been created. Universities have taken up the heavy responsibility of cultivating the teachers required; however, at home and abroad, there is a serious lack of qualified Chinese language teachers. .

Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at Ming Chuan University cultivates bilingual, even multilingual, Chinese-language teachers. Our Chinese language teaching differs from the traditional system, so that our students may respond to needs for Chinese language instructors in different countries, as well as at home.
